Rice Dressing or Dirty Rice is served throughout the Acadiana area. Accompanying many dishes from fried chicken and bar-b-que to pork and beef roast, Rice Dressing is almost the staple in Cajun cuisine. There are as many variations of the dish as there are cooks who prepare it.
Here at Russell’s Food Center, our Meat Department grinds the leanest cuts of pork and beef. We add the perfect amounts of onion, bell pepper, garlic and celery and then season our mix to just the right taste. This recipe is recreated many times over during the course of a week and results in a fresh consistent product every time.
Our Rice Dressing Mix is sold prepackaged every day in our seasoned meats box. All you do is brown and simmer and add the amount of rice you prefer. Add onion tops and/or parsley for a boudin-like rice dressing.
