Louisiana has a reputation for good food. That’s a fact!
And of course it’s the Cajun influence that is the reason for this.
All over the parishes of Acadiana, from the little convenience store or truck stop to the
large restaurants, the plate lunch is the king of the noon time hour. You might find one
of these places offering only one blue plate
special of the day consisting of
one meat and a pre-set vegetable and starch accompaniment. Traditional eating
establishments still adhere to the olden rules of seafood served on Fridays and a
roast (usually pork) or bar-b-que with trimmings served on Sundays.
Here at Russell’s we offer a large selection of regional cuisine on our daily plate
lunch. Every day we offer different types of meat cooked a variety of ways. We still
serve seafood on Friday and offer a roast dinner and some other entrée on Sundays.
Our menus are very traditional.
Spotting crawfish ettouffe, garfish boulettes in sauce piquante, shrimp stew with boiled
eggs, cabbage rolls, rice dressing and fried okra lets you know you’re in Cajun Country.
We also offer rotisserie chicken, slow-cooked beginning every morning. Stop by or call
ahead and order your plate lunch today.
